Used For

MyDekla (daclatasvir) is used in combination with other antiviral medicinal products for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in adults. The exact treatment combination and duration depend on the HCV genotype, presence of cirrhosis, and previous treatment or liver transplantation status.

How It Works

MyDekla contains daclatasvir, a direct-acting antiviral medicine that targets the Hepatitis C virus and interferes with its ability to multiply. It is used together with other antiviral medicines, such as sofosbuvir, with or without ribavirin, as part of an appropriate HCV treatment regimen.

Indications

MyDekla may be used as part of combination therapy for:

Hepatitis C genotype 1
Hepatitis C genotype 3
Recurrent HCV infection following liver transplantation
Chronic HCV infection with or without cirrhosis, depending on the treatment regimen
Dosage
HCV Genotype 1
Without cirrhosis: MyDekla + sofosbuvir (MyHep) for 12 weeks.
Compensated cirrhosis (Child-Pugh A): MyDekla + sofosbuvir (MyHep) for 12 weeks.
Decompensated cirrhosis (Child-Pugh B or C): MyDekla + sofosbuvir (MyHep) + ribavirin for 12 weeks.
Post-liver transplant: MyDekla + sofosbuvir (MyHep) + ribavirin for 12 weeks.
HCV Genotype 3
Without cirrhosis: MyDekla + sofosbuvir (MyHep) for 12 weeks.
Compensated or decompensated cirrhosis (Child-Pugh A, B or C): MyDekla + sofosbuvir (MyHep) + ribavirin for 12 weeks.
Post-liver transplant: MyDekla + sofosbuvir (MyHep) + ribavirin for 12 weeks.

Side Effects

Possible side effects may include headache, fatigue, nausea and other gastrointestinal or general symptoms. Side effects may also depend on the other antiviral medicines used in combination with MyDekla.

Drug Interactions

MyDekla can interact with other medicines and may not be suitable with certain medicines that strongly affect liver enzymes responsible for drug metabolism. When Not to Use
