How It Works

Bupivacaine belongs to the amide-type local anesthetic group. It works by blocking sodium channels in nerve cells, preventing the transmission of electrical signals along the nerves. This temporarily interrupts pain sensation in the treated area.

Usage & Safety

Bupicain-SP® should be administered only by a qualified healthcare professional. The dose and route of administration depend on the type of procedure, the area being anesthetized, the patient’s condition, and the required duration of anesthesia.

Possible side effects may include dizziness, headache, nausea, low blood pressure, numbness beyond the intended area, or temporary weakness. Rarely, excessive blood levels can cause serious effects on the central nervous system or heart.

When Not to Use
