Used For

Rocephin (Ceftriaxone) is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used for the treatment of various moderate to severe bacterial infections. It is commonly used when injectable antibiotic therapy is required.

How It Works

Ceftriaxone works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall. This weakens the bacterial cell wall and ultimately causes susceptible bacteria to die.

Indications

It may be used for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections, including:

Lower respiratory tract infections
Urinary tract infections
Skin and soft-tissue infections
Intra-abdominal infections
Bone and joint infections
Septicemia (bloodstream infections)
Meningitis
Certain sexually transmitted bacterial infections

Usage & Safety
