Used For

DURICEF (Cefadroxil) is used to treat bacterial infections, including certain infections of the respiratory tract, skin and soft tissues, urinary tract, and other susceptible bacterial infections.

How It Works

Cefadroxil works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall, which causes susceptible bacteria to die and helps clear the infection.

Usage & Safety

Dosage:
Take DURICEF exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The dose and duration depend on the type and severity of infection, age, and kidney function. Complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve.

Drug Interactions:

Indications

DURICEF may be indicated for susceptible bacterial infections such as:

When Not to Use

Do not use Cefadroxil if you have a known allergy to cefadroxil, other cephalosporin antibiotics, or have previously experienced a severe allergic reaction to penicillin or related antibiotics without medical advice.

Precautions

Use with caution in patients with kidney problems or a history of severe allergic reactions to antibiotics. Antibiotics should only be used for bacterial infections and should not be used for viral illnesses such as the common cold or flu.

Warnings

Seek immediate medical attention if severe allergic symptoms, difficulty breathing, facial swelling, or severe/persistent diarrhea occurs during treatment.

Pregnancy
